History
Youth Canada is an initiative started in August 2006 by two Vancouver high school students, Alex Shipillo and Michael Gelbart. After participating in many enrichment programs and struggling through scholarship and university applications, Alex and Michael decided to pass on some of their knowledge and enthusiasm to other high school students.
In August 2008, Youth Canada became an initiative of the Impact Entrepreneurship Group, Canada's largest non-profit, student-run organization dedicated to encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit amongst youth in Canada and becoming a starting point and catalyst for youth interested in entrepreneurship and leadership.
Through Youth Canada, Impact hopes to promote the entrepreneurial spirit to secondary school students and inspire them to become entrepreneurs themselves.
Since 2004, Impact has developed programs both at the national and local level that reach over 500,000 young people each year. To learn more about Impact and what we do, please visit www.impact.org.
